ALL ABOUT 219 CANDLE CO.

Hi! I’m Shay the owner and founder of 219 Candle Co. I turned my candle addiction from a hobby into a business.  When I am not busy making candles, I am either working a full-time job or being a basketball mom. I want you to fall in love with our candles as much as I have loved making them.

 

My journey into the world of candle-making began as a way to find balance in my busy life. As a single mom, every day brings its own set of challenges and rewards, and I needed something to ground me and provide a creative outlet. That's when I discovered the incredible world of candle crafting. I fell head over heels in love with the art of candle making, and it quickly became a source of solace and tranquility in my life. The process of transforming simple, natural ingredients into a soothing source of light and fragrance was not only therapeutic but also incredibly rewarding. Then one day my son said, “Why don’t you turn this candle hobby into a business.”. BOOM! 219 Candle Co. was created.

 

We did tons of testing to make sure that my candles not only smelled AH-MAZING but were also non-toxic  We decided to use Coconut Apricot wax because it's a sustainable, environmentally friendly, and vegan option. Coconut wax is derived from the meat of coconuts and has a low melting point, which allows for a longer burning time. Coconut wax also has a natural creamy color and a smooth texture, giving candles a luxurious appearance.

 

 

Apricot wax, on the other hand, is made from the oil of apricot kernels. It is a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to soy wax. Apricot wax has excellent fragrance retention which provides  a strong scented candle

When coconut wax and apricot wax are combined, they create a unique blend that combines the benefits of both waxes. The resulting coconut apricot wax is often used for high-quality candles that offer a long and clean burn, excellent scent throw, and an appealing aesthetic.

 

And so, my small-batch candle business was born. Every candle is carefully hand-poured with love and attention to detail. I take pride in using only the finest natural ingredients. At 219 Candle Co., we hand-pour every candle. We use the finest wax blend, the strongest scented paraben-free fragrance oils, and sustainable wooden wicks.
